Pocket or Mini-Cruiser

These two terms are used interchangeably and refer to the smallest “fully-equipped” cruiser which will accommodate dedicated sleeping within the cabin for a family of four.

Mid-cabin express cruisers in the range of twenty-four to perhaps twenty-seven feet are so classed. The term “fully equipped” is relative of course, but includes stand-up headroom in the main cabin area, a V-berth sleeping area which is convertible to a dinette, a “crawl in” sleeping area located in the mid section of the boat immediately below the raised helm and forward of the engine bulkhead (thus the term “mid-cabin”), a separate enclosed head with toilet, sink, running water, plus shower, and a galley with sink, storage cabinets, cook stove, and below-counter electric refrigerator, plus a shorepower hookup to provide 115 Volt AC hydro power on board. Most pocket or mini-cruisers will also have a hot water tank plus a cockpit portable cooler and perhaps cockpit seating which converts to a dinette or sun-lounge. Most of these boats are single engine, sterndrive powered and most have a legally trailer-able eight and one-half foot beam.
