Offshore and Big Water Fishing Rigs
If you’re serious about fishing the Great Lakes or other large inland lakes or perhaps Canada’s greatest rivers or the waters of our three oceans in search of trophy lunkers, then these are the boats of choice.
Showing: Bluewater Fishing Boats
These are the fibreglass boats from about mid-twenty feet up to around forty feet that feature high hull sides with flared bows to handle the big water, usually with hardtops for weather protection and on which to mount radar and other antennae plus downrigger attachments and “rocket launcher” rod holders. These are the boats with large built-in fuel tanks to allow you to go the distance plus over sized live wells and fish boxes plus both raw water and freshwater wash-down systems, and much more. These boats are available in three popular configurations: center console, dual-console (essentially like a bowrider), or walk-around (with an enclosed cabin and sometimes called an express or offshore), this latter configuration the most popular in Canada, again due to our climate considerations. Only the smallest of these boats have single outboard power while most have twin or even more outboards and you may find a very few with sterndrive or inboard power.
