Closed Deck Runabouts
Think of a closed deck runabout as a bowrider with the area ahead of the windshield closed off and no seating. Decades ago, this was by far the most popular general purpose and family boat but modern technology and improvements in bowrider design has so lessened the demand for closed deck runabouts that many manufacturers don’t even offer these models today. If your need for more and greater flexibility of seating is not a requirement then this boat may be your choice as many consider this design to be sleeker and “sexier” than a bowrider. Other than this, all attributes of a bowrider as outlined above are to be found in a closed deck runabout.
